Wolcome to Nuevo Pudahuel airport

Book exchange at Santiago airport

03/09/2017 This is the first time that an initiative of this type has been carried out in an airport in Latin America, and it joins similar initiatives in air terminals such as Madrid or Helsinki.

The airport concession, Nuevo Pudahuel, wants to turn the air terminal into a reference point for the region and allow passengers to have an integral experience every time they arrive at the main arrival and departure point of Chile. This is how, in each boarding lounge, a book exchange point has been installed, so that, in addition to travelling by plane, passengers can travel via their imagination. In the international sector, the bookshelf is between gates 12 and 14, next to a children's play area, and in the national sector it is near gate 24.

The point, known worldwide as “Book Swap”, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This initiative encourages travellers to drop off used books they have already enjoyed and replace them with new ones. The instructions state that it is important to fill out a small sticker on the inside of he book where you can indicate where the book has been and to whom it belonged.

There are books of all literary genres and for all ages, highlighting Chilean literature so that the world can get to know national writers.
