Spotter Day

What is Spotter Day?
Spotter Day, organized every year since 2016 by Nuevo Pudahuel, is a unique opportunity for the concessionary company of Arturo Merino Benítez Airport to share special moments with the airport community.
This is a photography event dedicated to aviation lovers, organized twice a year with the support of the civil aviation authority (DGAC), to celebrate their passion for airplanes, accessing the air side of the airport of Santiago.

How was Spotter Day born?
On August 6, 2016, in Nuevo Pudahuel we defined a historic moment in the Arturo Merino Benítez airport thanks to our work with the civil aviation authority (DGAC), granting access to a group of 40 spotters to an area habilitated by the civil aviation authority next to the runway for a day of photography, thus the first Spotter Day of the AMB airport was born.
During this activity we not only offered the fans new locations for their hobby, but we also strengthened ties with this group by offering a safe environment for the activity without any risk to airside operations. Today, spotters are recognized as a contribution at Santiago airport. As a result of the success of the activity, Nuevo Pudahuel celebrates Spotter Day twice a year.
