  • According to Cirium’s 2025 Global On-Time Performance Ranking, Santiago Airport topped the list in the “Large Airports” category, surpassing major hubs in Asia, Europe, and North America.

Santiago, January 2nd, 2026.– Santiago Airport has been recognized as the most punctual airport in the world in its category —airports handling over 25 million passengers annually— according to the 2025 Global On-Time Performance report by leading aviation analytics firm Cirium.

This distinction places Santiago at the forefront of operational efficiency and schedule reliability worldwide, with on-time departure and arrival rates exceeding 87% and 84%, respectively.

Cirium’s annual report is among the most authoritative in the aviation industry, analyzing the performance of thousands of airports and airlines globally. In the 2025 edition, Santiago ranked first in the “Large Airports” category, ahead of international hubs such as Osaka (Itami), Minneapolis–St. Paul, Bogotá, and Seattle–Tacoma. Other Latin American airports recognized in different categories include Panama City (PTY) and Guayaquil (GYE).

“This recognition makes us proud not only because it reflects the coordinated effort of everyone involved in Santiago Airport’s operations, but because it highlights the impact of the infrastructure we’ve developed over the past decade,” said Manuel Valencia, Deputy Manager of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Santiago Airport.
“Our new international terminal, the renovation of the domestic terminal, expanded cargo and ground transport facilities, and new technology —including upgraded baggage security screening— have all contributed to delivering tangible benefits for passengers, such as improved punctuality.”

The Cirium ranking is based on the analysis of millions of commercial flights, evaluating performance by the percentage of on-time departures and arrivals. Only scheduled passenger services are considered, using data collected from global tracking systems, airlines and airports.

In 2025, Santiago Airport handled over 26.5 million passengers, reinforcing its position as a key hub for both international and domestic connectivity.
