Passengers must submit their travel documents, i.e. passport or identity card, and the duly stamped visa as necessary, at International Police every time they fly into the country.
International tourists are required to fill out a Tourist Card and hand in a copy of this document when leaving the country. Foreign residents in Chile must hand in a copy of this document upon their return.
Please note that Chilean nationals are not required to fill out a Tourist Card when traveling.
Every person over 18 years of age who enters Chile through Santiago Airport (SCL), must fill out the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) Affidavit and indicate whether he or she is carrying vegetable and/or animal products in order to avoid the entry of pests and diseases that could harm agriculture.
To avoid physical contact, the SAG has provided a Digital Affidavit available to passengers at sagingresoachile.cl or by a QR code available at the airport.
Schedule your entry to Chile: declare before starting your trip or when entering the country through your mobile device.
If you plan to travel by plane, please check the formalities you must follow so as to avoid problems when boarding your flight
Passengers must head to the third level of Terminal Nacional T1 and check in, either at the available counters or through the self-service kiosks, where they can label their luggage independently.
Subsequently, they must pass through the new security checkpoints, which were set up after the terminal's renovation, allowing for a more efficient and streamlined process. Once they have passed this control, passengers can proceed to the boarding areas of the sector.
RecommendationsIt is recommended that passengers arrive between 60 and 120 minutes before the flight departure for domestic trips, especially during peak hours, to ensure a smooth process without any delays.
The passenger must head to the third level of the passenger terminal, where the international boarding area is located.
After checking in, either at the counters or online, the passenger must begin the immigration procedures with the International Police (PDI), presenting the necessary travel documents, such as identity card or passport, stamped visa (depending on the destination country), and the boarding pass.
For passengers under the age of 18, notarized documents, certificates, and/or family book may also be required, as appropriate.
The passenger must then proceed to airport security control (AVSEC) and then enter the boarding area.
Please note that passengers who are in Chile as international tourists must present a copy of their tourist card when leaving the country. Meanwhile, foreign residents in Chile must complete the same card before starting their journey.
Additionally, passengers who must re-enter Chile in the short term and carry valuable items can make a sworn declaration of temporary exit of objects at the National Customs Service office, located to the right of the airport security control.
